Agnes Schuster was born April 18, 1854 to parents Francis and Katorina Schuster of Germany. It is believed that she was born in Berlin (in Prussia at that time). Census records indicate that she immigrated to the U.S. in 1875. She married another immigrant, Jacob Feirer, on August 03, 1875 in Eau Claire, WI with whom she had one son and seven daughters: John Albert, Marie R. (Steuding), Agnes J. (Lang), Anna "Annie" E. (Lambert), Fanny, Elizabeth J. (Jones), Matilda "Tilly" G. (Mannion), and Serafina "Sadie" Marguerite (Mannion). It was said that some of her children died early due to "consumption" and, therefore, she had a great fear of kissing on the lips...something of which she warned her children. Her husband, Jacob, died in 1899 in a railroad accident. She continued to live in their house at 566 Germania Street with her youngest daughter, Sadie (and various single adult children moving in and out of the house according to Eau Claire city directories) until her death in 1908. Cause of death was heart disease. The funeral and burial took place on January 22, 1908.
