Lynn Martin Brailsford passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of August 26, 2015. He was born on March 7, 1941, and was the third of seven children born to Percy Martin Brailsford and Thelma Hess Brailsford.

As a lifelong resident of Brigham City, Lynn was an active member of the community. As a student at Box Elder High School, he was a sports enthusiast and loved baseball, golf, football, and swimming. After graduation, Lynn served with the Utah National Guard for six years. Lynn then attended Weber State University which led to a position in the accounting department at Thiokol Chemical Corporation. He became the Chief Financial Officer for the Utah Flare division of Morton Thiokol and at the time of his retirement he worked in the accounting department at ATK.


Lynn coached Little League baseball and passed on his love of the game to a new generation. He loved golf and was the recipient of several local championship titles, and he served on the board of directors for the Brigham City Golf and Country Club. He was an avid fly fisherman and also enjoyed hunting and camping, especially at Daniels Reservoir in Idaho.

Lynn married Sharon Baty on November 15, 1963, and they had two children, Scott and Kristin. They were later divorced.

On December 19, 1997, Lynn married Judy Corwin Smith and they enjoyed nearly 18 years together.

Lynn is survived by his wife Judy; daughter Kristin (Jay) Buttars from Chubbuck, Idaho; son Scott (Charlotte) Brailsford from Perry, Utah; stepson Michael (Emily) Smith from Houston, Texas; and stepdaughter Cate (Will) Brubaker from San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico.

Lynn is also survived by his grandchildren Mandi, Breanne, and Kaden Buttars from Chubbuck, Idaho; Mayson Brailsford from Perry, Utah; step granddaughter Hannah Kidd of Ogden, Utah; brothers Ronald (Dorothy), Dee, and Kent Brailsford; and sisters Sheryl (Burke) Rogers and Kaylene (Greg) Kozak.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and sister, JaNeal Rogers.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31st at Brigham City 4th Ward, 25 North 300 East. Family and friends may visit at the church at 10 am, and services will begin at 11 am. Interment will be in Brigham City Cemetery
