Mrs. Elias Austin passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Young, at Randolph Tuesday, July 27, at the age of 81 years and nine months.

She was born Dec. 1, 1844 at Stafordshire, England and came to America when eight years old and settled with her parents in the town of Dekorra. The trip across was made in the sailing vessel in use at that time. She was the last of a family of eight children to pass away. She was in poor health for nearly four years and for the last year nearly helpless. On April 9, 1864 she was united in marriage to Elias Austin and to this union ten children were born, four of whom preceded her in death. Her husband passed away June 24, 1923. She is survived by six children: Mrs. Earl Young, Guy Austin, and Mrs. Clint Gilson of Randolph; Louis Austin of Riley, Wis.; Mrs. Hattie Huggett of Fall River and Will Austin of Rio.
