She married Walter Henry Carlton in Essex County, England, in 1906. Walter and Esther immigrated to Canada in 1910 and were registered in the 1911 census of Canada in Westminster township, Nilestown village, Middlesex County, Ontario. Their oldest daughter was born in England and the three youngest children were born in Canada. Two of her younger brothers, Harold and Stanley Peach, also immigrated to Canada, in 1913, and settled in the London, Ontario, area.
