She was born May 19, 1940, in Golconda, Ill., to John Wesley and Lela May Adams Bowman. She married Elmer Hepner March 10, 1963, in Rock Island.
She worked for 30 years for the state of Illinois, retiring as an Illinois State Police Truck Weight Inspector.
She enjoyed bingo, camping, reading and traveling. She was also one of the founding members of Our Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Colona.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer, Geneseo; children, Helenna (Dewayne) Freeman, Sherrard, Hope Mrosko, Geneseo, Neal Hepner, Geneseo, and Rena (Chris) Sweely, East Moline; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Marlyn (Clarence) Verslys, Canyon City, Colo.; brother, Kenneth (Peggy) Bowman, Colona. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Pat Anderson and Liz Mrosko; and brother, William Marion Bowman.
