THOMAS ELLIOTT (born about 1756 died: 1786 in Charleston District, South Carolina) was the son of LT. COLONEL SAMUEL ELLIOTT (ca. 1726 – 7 April 1777,Colleton County [Charleston District], South Carolina) and ELIZABETH SAUNDERS. The spouse and children of Thomas Elliott (1756-1786) are unknown at this time. Information is available about the parents of Thomas Elliott (1756-1786) as follows.

SAMUEL ELLIOTT (1726-1777) and ELIZABETH SAUNDERS had the following children:
• Thomas Elliott (b: abt 1756 – 1786)
• Benjamin Elliott (b: abt 1757/1758)
• Elizabeth Saunders “Eliza” Elliott (b: abt 1759). She married Glen Drayton on 30 May 1781 in Charleston, South Carolina.

On 11 March 1777 (codicil made on 22 March 1777): Samuel ELLIOTT of Colleton County, South Carolina, made his will. He named his wife, Elizabeth, (granddaughter of Elizabeth HUNT); sons, Thomas & Benjamin, (both under 21); daughter Elizabeth; sister-in-law, Sarah ELLIOTT, deceased; brother, Thomas ELLIOTT, deceased. Executors were brother, Benjamin ELLIOTT, and cousin, Barnard ELLIOTT. The will was probated on 5 April 1777/1778 (writing unclear). It is not known where Samuel Elliott is buried, but he might be buried in Saint Philips Episcopal Church Cemetery, Charleston, South Carolina, where his cousin, Barnard Elliott (1740-1778) is buried.

(1) 2 June 1786: THOMAS ELLIOTT, planter of Hilton Head, made his will and named his sister Mrs. Eliza DRAYTON; brother-in-law Glen DRAYTON. Will proved 9 August 1786. Burial location unknown, perhaps the Episcopal Churchyard of Saint Helenas in Beaufort County, South Carolina, where his sister’s husband, Glen Drayton is buried.
(2) 8 July 1788: BENJAMIN ELLIOTT, son of Samuel, planter, made his will.
Named sister Elizabeth Saunders DRAYTON (wife of Glen DRAYTON); nieces Elizabeth & Margaret DRAYTON. Sole executrix, mother Elizabeth ELLIOTT.
(3) 30 November 1792: ELIZABETH ELLIOTT, widow of Samuel ELLIOTT, Charleston, SC, made her will. She named her daughter Elizabeth DRAYTON; granddaughters Eliza Elliott DRAYTON, Margaret Glen DRAYTON. Mentioned John DRAYTON.
