Jacob Oscar Callantine, 84, a lifetime resident of the Gallatin Valley, died Thursday at the Bozeman Convalescent Center.
He was born in Menard, Montana, north of Belgrade, to Frank and Lanah (Kamp) Callantine.
He married Evaline Bennett on December 23, 1922 in Bozeman.
The family farmed at Maudlow until retirement and moved to Bozeman in 1961.
He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of Bozeman; three daughters, Mrs. Harold J. (Virginia) Miller and Mrs. Glen (Vernie) Martella, both of Bozeman, and Mrs. Albert (Ethel) Collins, Jr., Belgrade; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a half brother, Wallace of California and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, James, four brothers, two sisters and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
