Annandale, VA - Rebecca Louise Carpenter, 66, of Annandale, VA, formerly of Cumberland, MD, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA.
Born November 16, 1948, in Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Carpenter was the daughter of Wallace Glenn Ullery and Betty Louise (Shaffer) Ullery, Cumberland, MD.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Bruce Carpenter.
A graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1966, Rebecca was also a graduate of Thiel College, Greenville, PA, and George Mason University with her Doctorate Degree. She was formerly employed with Daimler Benz, Germany; the World Bank, Washington, DC; and a current employee at Annandale Community College where she taught English as a second language.
Rebecca was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church.
Besides her parents, Rebecca is survived by her brother: Craig Ullery; and a nephew: Ian Ullery, both of Petaluma, CA; as well as numerous aunts and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., with Bishop Kurt Kusserow officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
