Birth: Nov., 1851, Canada
Death: Aug. 31, 1910
Mille Lacs County
Minnesota, USA

Mrs. Walter E. Brown passed away
at her home in this village yesterday
morning 9:30 o'clock, aged 58 years
10 months. She had been a great
sufferer for years and had been con-
fined to her bed for four months.
Everything possible was done in an
attempt to restore her to health, but
she obtained no relief—she suffered
patiently until the end.

The funeral services will be held at
the Methodist church tomorrow after-
noon at 2 o'clock and Rev. Goodell
will officiate. The interment will be
in Oak Knoll cemetery.

Mrs Walter E. Brown, whose maiden
name was Anna Lurinda Orton, was
born in Canada. She came to
Minnesota with her parents in
1856 and settled in Greenbush.
She was married in 1880 to Walter Clark
and two sons were born of this union,
Sylvester W. Clark, who lives at
Ballclub, Minn., and Wm. Clark, a
resident of St. Cloud. In 1885 she
was married to Walter E. Brown and
three children survive her from this
marriage, viz. Fred Brown, Princeton;
Mrs. Luella M. Fryhling, Princeton;
Mrs. Gertrude A. Ludgate, Huntley, Mont.
She also leaves five brothers and
one sister, as follows: John Orton,
Elk River; Alvin, Swanville: Jefferson,
Mille Lacs lake; Nathan, Greenbush;
Samuel, Princeton; Mrs. Malinda Farrington,
Kalispell, Montana.

Mrs. Brown was a true Christian
woman who during her residence in
this community had made many
friends. She was scrupulously honest
and a woman highly imbued with the
spirit of generosity. She will be
greatly missed and long mourned by
those to whom she had endeared herself
