Arnold Frank "Kelly" Aikens, 74, died Saturday, October 18, 2003, at his home in Ogden.
He was born March 5, 1929, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, a son of George Franklin and Edna Margurite Arnold Aikens. On August 19, 1955, Kelly and Karma Lu Stewart were married in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. He lived in Wisconsin for 17 years prior to his move to the Ogden area. Kelly served his country with the U.S. Armed Forces during the Korean War. He retired from U.S. West after 33 years of service as a central office repairman.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and served as a past State President and Aerie President.
Surviving are his wife, Karma Lu, of Ogden; one son and two daughters, Mark Stewart (Cindy) Aikens, North Ogden; Malinda Lee (Sydney) Weech, Longview, TX; Shellie Ann Milligan, Ogden; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Kelly is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Don Aikens, Maine; William "Bill" Aikens, and Florence Anderson, both of Kenosha, WI; Dorcus Allen, Sarasota, FL. Preceding him in death were his parents.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Brent Nelson officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday Noon to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park. Military Honors will be accorded.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the American Cancer Society for the benefit of Camp Hobe.
