Employed as a parole officer in Port Huron, Michigan for a short while, later moving to Detroit and Wayne, Michigan until 1962 when he and his family moved to Marquette. While in Marquette, he was employed by the State of Michigan Department of Corrections and retired in 1984 as District Supervisor of Probation and Parole for the Upper Peninsula.
Member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, the Marquette Exchange Club, American Legion Post #44 and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan Association of Law Enforcement Officers.
He served on the board of directors of the Janzen House in Marquette as well as the Salvation Army board. He also volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
