Robert D. Airhart, 77, died at 7:54 PM Thursday, Jan. 26, 1995, in Murdock Manor. He was born March 8, 1917, in Montmorenci, and was a lifelong resident of the Lafayette area. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1935.
Mr. Airhart was the parts manager for 40 years at Glenn R. Pitman Ford. He retired, then worked at Sears for six years, retiring in 1985. His marriage was to Glenara B. Luttrell on September 24, 1939 in Colburn, IN; she survives. Mr. Airhart was an Army veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church, and Burma, a veterans organization. He enjoyed golf and various other sports.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Bruce "Edward" Airhart of South Bend; a daughter, Marlene (Mrs. Michael) Dempsey of Noblesville; a grandson, Jason Edward Dempsey; and three sisters, Florence (Mrs. Chesley) Ferguson, Mary Montgomery, and Josephine (Mrs. Roy) Hanover, all of Lafayette. Service Jan. 30, the Rev. Dr. Carl Malmgren officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
