A.S. ADAMS IS DEAD
As announced briefly in these columns last week A.S. Adams of Elyria died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Morris, at 7:40 Wednesday morning. The old man has been rather feeble for years and lately has been having a few sick spells, but he was apparently on the mend generally but a few days before his death he took sick again and from this was unable to rally.
Alexander S. Adams was born in Houndsville, N.Y., Sept. 18, 1839. On October 9th, 1864 he was married to Catherine Nay at Clarendon, N.Y.
To this union were born three children and of these John Adams of Oklahoma and Mrs. Eli Morris of Elyria still survive.
A.S. Adams descended from the Henry Adams, an ancestor of President John Quincy Adams, but his good name in Valley County is due wholly to his own sterling qualities of character. No one ever bore a better name among his neighbors and acquaintances than did A.S. Adams.
The funeral was held from the Morris home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Rev. A.L Umpleby officiating.
