Albert G. Bailey- age 80 of Rt. 3 Old Fort died Tuesday
(December 14, 1999) in St. Joseph Hospital, Asheville. Born in Madison County to the late Curtis and Milda Lowe Bailey, he was a farmer and a retired employee of Old Fort Finishing Company.
Survivors include his wife, Malene Meadows Bailey; two sons, Bill Bailey of Old Fort and Douglas Bailey of Nebo; five daughters, Brenda Shoenfelt and Nancy Smart both of Forest City, Pamela Bailey of Charlotte, Anita Buchanan and Robin Inman both of Old Fort, three brothers, Grady Bailey of Old Fort, Everette Bailey of Asheville and Howard Bailey of Colorado; nine sisters, Bertha, Lee, Dolly, Margaret, Gladys, Louise, Ruby and Faye all of Asheville and Erlene of Cleveland, TN; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
The family received friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kirksey Funeral Home, Old Fort. Funeral was held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Old Fort Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. Revs. Cecil Brown and Doug Carpenter officiated and burial followed in Salem Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
