MILLEDGEVILLE — Owen M. Johnson, 55, died at a local hospital Friday night following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Church. The Rev. Conrad Birkle, the Rev. Norman Williams and Joseph A. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Nunn-Wheeler Cemetery.

He was a deacon of the Macedonia Baptist Church and was in the pulpwood business.

Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Zelda Polk; a son, Franklin Johnson, Atlanta; a daughter, Mrs. Frances C. Smith, Milledgeville; a brother, R.L. Johnson, Milledgeville; seven sisters, Mrs. Winnie Frazier, Mrs. Lillie Frazier, Mrs. H.T. Frazier, Sr., Mrs. E.J. Lundy, Mrs. Horace Boyer, Mrs. Louise Hitchcock and Mrs. Edward Roberts, all of Milledgeville; and two grandchildren.
