Though Andrew is buried here under the name W. Alexander, the Civil War unit (Co.F 79th Illinois Infantry) inscribed on his Government Headstone lets us know it him.

Andrew was son of Thomas and Mary Ann (Morris)Alexander, husband to Sarah Ellen (Glenn) Alexander and Mary Ellen (Yates) Alexander. He fathered three children with Sarah; Janette, Leonora, and Albert A Alexander. After Sarah died in 1869, he married Mary and fathered three more children: Thomas S, John Andrew, and Ida L.

Sarah is buried in Martinsville City Cemetery in Clark County, Illinois alongside his mother and maternal grandparents, Richard and Catherine (Teel) Morris
