Relatively little is known about Bessie, who married Abraham, one of nine children of the Lisansky family from the Bielsk-Podlaski area of Poland (then in Belarus, part of the Russian Empire). Some data shows they had a son, Sam, in 1893, when Bessie would have been only 14. This seems unlikely. They eventually emmigrated to America and had three other children: Minnie, Jack, and Esther.
