My Great Grandma~

Daughter Of Alvin & Mary Francis (Beaty) Overton~

Mother Of Barbara Smith~Margaret Alm~Norma Chestnut~

Twin Brother Also Named Clarence, Passed Away either at birth or very young age~

She married Clarence Edward Hoover. They had 10 children, one daughter died as an infant. When I was born they named me after her, Cynthia Irene. She lived in Nebraska all her life. I remember she made the best homemade cinnamon rolls. She was a wonderful cook. She read every Harlequin Romance Book ever published!!!~ She was friendly to all.

I also remember that she liked the colors of lavender & pale pink together, especially in flowers. She made my sister & I several outfits when we were little girls out of material with lots of lavender & pink flowers on them. They were the most comfortable ones during those hot summer months! In those last few years of her life, she stayed and visited each of her kids at their homes~

I LOVED when it was time for her to stay with us! My sister & I would literally "FIGHT" over who was going to fill the pitcher of water that she liked beside her bed each night!~So she started giving the other one something to do for her too~while the other filled the pitcher~We Just Loved Her! It was a big deal to us, to get to do something for her!~
The very last night she stayed with us before going home to Lincoln....The last thing I remember she said to me was "Cindy, Be A Good Girl For Your Grandma Sweetheart (My Grandparents raised us)...She Has Her Hands Full~Your the oldest and she depends on you." then she gave me the tightest hug ever! She had never hugged me like THAT, I remembered thinking! I could never have known that it would be the last time I would see her~Now I know that was her way of telling me goodbye~
I Will Love and Remember You Always Great Grandma!~

She Died Of Heart Failure~(Hardening Of The Arteries)~
