Eddie married Diana L. Lakin on December 18, 2000 in Peoria.
Eddie graduated from Woodruff High School in 1987. He worked at Proctor Hospital as a maintenance Aid for over 25 years.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Diana L. Doby; one daughter CeCe Doby of Peoria; one son, Kendall Doby, of Peoria; one step son, Dustin Lawrence of Peoria; mother, Altha Doby of Augusta, AR; father, Alvis Rutherford of Peoria; four brothers, Donald (Shelly Leeper) Doby of Peoria; Demond Doby of Chicago; Benjamin Doby and David Doby both of Augusta, AR; one sister Tiandra Doby of Augusta, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Eddie was preceded by his grandparents Ardell and Lurlee White.
Eddie was a collector of Marvel Comic Books. He was an avid “Chargers” football fan. Eddie also loved traveling, watching the Cooking channel and spending time with family and friends. He once drove from Niagara Falls, NY to Birch Run, MI just to get one of the famous 1 pound Bacon Sandwiches from Tony's Restaurant.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11 am at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church with a visitation beginning at 10 am. The Rev. Jimmy R. Williams will officiate. Simons Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be made at simonsmortuary.com.
