Creve Coeur -- Bob "Pops" Helmig, 79 of Creve Coeur passéd away at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 11 at Bradley Epworth Christian Church in Peoria. Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co., Pekin/Peoria, is in charge if arrangements.

He was born to Edmund H. Helmig, 1912-14 July 2002, and Beverly Helmig 27 UG 1939-2 OCT 2008 in Illinois.
Preceded in death sister Beverly Helmig (1938-2008)
He is survived by four sons; three daughters; fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was a lifelong carpenter and avid fisherman. He was a member of Bradley Epworth Christian Church.

"I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. When it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray, when in the Lord's great net, peacefully asleep and in His great mercy-may he judge me big enough to keep."
