Ethan Edison King, 3 1/2 went to be with God on Wednesday (Feb. 27, 2008) at 10:55 a.m. at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.
Ethan was a fun loving, strong, resilient, ornery little boy who had overcome many childhood setbacks caused by prematurity. He loved playing with his cars and trucks and his brothers and sisters, he also enjoyed watching Spongebob and Diego.
He was born Sept. 3, 2004, in Zanesville, son of Victor and Jennifer (Bayly) King of Salesville.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Karen (Rossiter) Bayly, and paternal grandfather, Larry King.
He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Merlin Bayly of Pleasant City; paternal grandmother, Rosalie King of New Concord; his siblings, Tristen, 10, Tyler, 7, Madison, 5, and Audrey, 2, all of the home; maternal great-grandmother, Wilma Rossiter of Byesville; maternal great-aunt, Christine (John) Hornak of Pleasant City; paternal aunts and uncles, Trisstessa (Scott) Hayes of Columbus, Elena (Dave Stanley) King of Cambridge, Felicia (Travis) Millhon of Old Washington, Sylvia (Mike) Magis of New Concord, Olivia (Shawn) Adams of Old Washington and Daniel King of Virginia; six cousins, Chase, Micah, Gracie, Blake, Maria and Inez. Ethan had a large loving extended family of aunts, uncles, great-aunts and uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Four Mile Hill Church of Christ in Christian Union. The Rev. John A Tipton and Pastor Kermit Welty of Columbus, who baptized Ethan at Children's Hospital, officiated.
Burial is in Greenwood Cemetery.
Ethan gave life by being an organ donor.
