Obituary
John Trig Halsey was born Oct. 15, 1848 and departed this
life, May 14, 1935 at the age of 86 years 6 months and 29 days.
He was married to Hannah Hudiburg, Sept. 1, 1869 who departed this life June 4, 1932. To this union four children were born, Mrs. Frank Hicks, Harwood,Mo. Jim Halsey, Sedalia, MO,; Chas. Halsey, Clinton, Mo.; and
Mrs. Wade Johnson, Clinton, Mo.; He united with the Baptist
Church of Schell City, Mo. in 1894. Beside his children he
leaves to mourn his parting, sixteen grand-children, forty great grand-children, and two great great grand-children, he also leaves three sisters and one brother, Mrs M. M. Burris; Los Angles Calif.; Mrs. Mary Douglas, Urich, Mo.; Mrs. Tom Hardman, ElDorado Springs, Mo.; and Gleaves Halsey, Kansas City Mo.
John Trig Halsey moved to Schell city, March 1892 where
he made his home until the health of himself and wife made
it necessary to give up their home here, and go to live with their daughter, Mrs. Frank Hicks. There Mr. and Mrs. Hicks gave them every care, that loving hearts, could give, until first the mother, and now the father passed on to their reward.
Funeral service were conducted from the Baptist church Thursday, May 16, by Rev. Clarence Bybee. Six grand-
sons acted as pall bearers and several great-grand-daughters carried the flowers. Burial was in Greenlawn cemetery beside his wife.
Mr. Halsey served as marshall of our town for many years. One thing that stands out in our memory of him was, when any one was in need and worthy to receive help, Mr. Halsey, as marshall, presented the cause to the people, and they, knowing he had investigated, would gladly do their part. His wife too, is remembered as standing by his side in his ministry of mercy and kindness.
Those men about town to whom he was familiarly known as
"Jack," for so many years, will miss this friend, and the sorrowing loved ones have the sympathy of the community.

Those here from away to attend the funeral of J. T. Halsey were: Jas. Halsey. who was helping care for him; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Halsey, daughter Nellie,Mrs. Wade Johnson, Gene Hicks and family, Earl and Geo. Halsey and wives, Mrs. Gabe Sersey and son, from Clinton; Mr. and
Mrs. Oscar Martens of Sedalia; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hardman, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. and Claud Medearis and Mr. Floyd Medearis of El Dorado Spr., Mrs. 1. Carriger of Nevada,-----all relatives of the deceased. Other names we did not learn, may have been here.
