Mrs. Henrietta Alspach Died in Oklahoma

She Formerly Resided In Jackson Township—Burial At Warren

Word was received at Montpelier telling of the death of Mrs. Henrietta Alspach, a former resident of Jackson township, at Sapulpa, Okla. Very few particulars were learned, but Mrs. Alspach had been in poor health the past several months and her death was due to a complication of diseases and to the infirmities of old age. She was almost seventy years old.

Surviving are the following children, John, Floyd and Clyde, all residing near Sapulpa, Okla., Asa, residing in Jackson township, J. C. Bevington, a brother, residing west of Montpelier, also survives.

The body will be brought to Warren, where funeral services will be held, and she will be laid to rest by the side of her husband, who preceded her in death several years ago.

OBITUARY

Henrietta Bevington, daughter of R.A. and Catherine Bevington, was born in Jackson Township, Wells County, Indiana, November 3 1850. She was united in marriage to Daniel Alspach, December 25 1867. To this union were born four sons, John A. of Jenks Oklahoma, Asa B. of Wells County Indiana, Floyd and Daniel C. of Nowata Oklahoma. She united with the Wesleyan Church at South Salem, April 28 1878 and lived a devout christian the remaining years of her life and died at the home of her son Floyd, February 8 1918. Her husband having preceded her in death May 5 1893. Her affliction dated back to four years ago when suffered a slight stroke of paralysis from which she never fully recovered. The only time the writer ever met her was a little over one year ago when she testified as to her faith in Christ and declared her purpose to be true unto the end. As long as she kept her home its doors were ever open to the Children of God and there are many ministers of the Indiana Conference, who have received a friendly welcome by Mr. and Mrs. Alspach, and shared in the hospitality of this christian home.

One by one the older members of of [sic] this once large class, have passed away until only four of this number remain, Mrs. Cyntha brinneman, Mrs. Jane Bevington, Mrs. Berzetta Shadle and Sister Tucker, the mother of Rev. H. T. Arnold's wife. The funeral was held in South Salem Church, burial in the Asbury Cemetery.
