Albert James "Jim" Agnew of Alexandria Township passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township. He was 82.

Born May 8, 1929 in Frenchtown, Jim lived there his whole life. He graduated from Frenchtown High School, was the owner of the Frenchtown Coffee Shop, and also a butcher at the A&P in Frenchtown for 30 years. Jim served in the Navy. He was an exempt fireman with the Frenchtown Volunteer Fire Company for many years. He was a member of the N.J. State Fireman's Association and the Frenchtown American Legion, Fidelity Post #113. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, gardening and bird watching. He will be dearly missed by his beloved family and many friends.

He was pre-deceased by step-daughter Deborah Ungerer in 2008, and two grandsons, Daniel Taylor in 2001 and Donald Taylor in 2007.

Son of James Agnew and Myrtle Trimmer Agnew , Jim is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnn Britton Agnew ; his son, James Agnew of Manville; daughters, Jamie Agnew of Easton, Pa. and Lisa Hall of Palmer Township, Pa.; step-son, Dan Mock of Stockton; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, at 9 a.m. at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Edwards Church, 61 Mill Street, Milford. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
