Fisher Alexander, Jr. was born January 14, 1917, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Fisher Sr. and Mardella Cox Alexander. He served in the U.S. Army and later moved to Curry County New Mexico in 1937.

Fisher married Jerldine Powell of Texas on April 28, 1947. He worked as a custodian for James Bickley for 27 years. He was a member of the First Church of God in Christ and the American Legion Post No.117.

Fisher was a local musician playing bass with Route 66 and formerly with Big Mac and Little Fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mildred Walker; and one grandson, Edward Lee Alexander.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Johnnie Alexander of Bakersfield, CA; two daughters, Delores Collins (Lorenzo) of Clovis and Yvette Holmes of Boston, MA; two sisters, Juanita Benford of Baltimore, MD. and Emma Lue Sadler of Fort Worth, TX; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled from 6-7 p.m. today at Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis. Bishop W. Charles Green will officiate the services. Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brian Bradley, Lorenzo Collins, Michael Carson, Frederick Johnson, Paul Saiz and Eric Price.
Honorary bearers will be Tony Chavez, Andy Chase, Walter Lewis and Bobby Gilmore.

Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
