Dorothy O. Davis Allbaugh, 89, of Flora, died at 1:37 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at Clarian Arnett Hospital, Lafayette. She had been admitted the previous day, and had been a resident of St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi since September 2006.
Born July 26, 1921, in Michigantown, she was the daughter of the late James and Iva Freeman Davis. She attended Rossville High School.
On March 21, 1942, she married George Allbaugh at Camp Walters, Texas, and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2001.
Mrs. Allbaugh worked at the former Capehart Manufacturing and Essex Manufacturing in Flora for several years, and was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Brethren Church of Flora. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, and camping at several Indiana State Parks and at the Michigan Dunes with her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Roberson of Flora; and two sisters, Anna Grove of Rossville and Norma Burton of Indianapolis.
Also surviving are 2 sisters-in-law, Carmen Wise and June Clem (husband: Charlie); a granddaughter, Lori Couchot (husband: Dave) of Mason, Ohio; and a grandson, Donnie Roberson (fiancée: Rena Chittick) of Delphi. Dorothy dearly loved her daughter; her 2 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, and all of her extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today at Baker-Abbott Funeral Home in Flora. Service there at 10 a.m. Thursday, Pastor Dan Herendeen officiating. Interment at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
