Julia was united in marriage on September 3, 1938, to Mr. Robert A. Davis and they spent the next 56 happy years together until his passing on December 23, 1994. They made their home in Plano, IL, and it was there that they raised their three children, Marjorie, Gerald and Carole. Mrs. Davis was a member of the United Methodist Church of Plano, in Plano, Illinois. She was a past President of the Plano Woman's Club, and was a member of the Golden Harvesters Kitchen Band. Julia enjoyed many hobbies, such as crocheting and traveling, and was an avid bowler. Mrs. Davis was employed, for several years, by Hemmingsen Hardware Store in Plano, Illinois. Julia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be missed by her family and many friends.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her son, Gerald Alan (Paula) Davis of Yorkville, Illinois; her sons-in-law, Ralph Gearson, of Plano, IL, and Dick Latham, of Ava, IL; her 10 grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Eloise (Sherman) Mathre, of Newark, IL, and Nancy (Glen) Green, of Mundelein, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sadie Brown; her husband, Robert Davis; her two daughters, Marjorie Gearson and Carol Latham; her three sisters, Elenor Gengler, Mildred Thompson, and Doris Akre; her grandson, Kenny Latham; and her great-granddaughter, Kristen Markland.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Davis will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at the United Methodist Church of Plano, 219 N. Hale Street, Plano, Illinois with Reverend Christina Stanton officiating. Interment will follow in the Millington-Newark Cemetery, in Millington, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, March 29, 2005 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South St., Plano, Illinois.
