D. Joan Abbe, age 84 of West Chester, Ohio, formerly of Harbor Beach, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Otterbein Lebanon Retirement Community. She was born on January 18, 1928 in Harbor Beach to the late Darrel and G. Helen (Hagedon) True. Joan and Bruce Abbe were united in marriage on June 5, 1948 in Harbor Beach. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1998. Joan is survived by her children: Christopher Abbe of West Chester, Ohio, and Jan Sanford and her husband Charles of Cincinnati, three grandchildren: Benjamin Sanford, Jamie Sanford, and Fred Pangle, and one great-grandchild Kayden. She was preceded in death by two sisters Barbara Richardson and Carol Schmidt. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Rock Falls Cemetery at 2 pm. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach.
