Mae was born in Danville, IL, youngest daughter of Orrie J. and Eleanor McBride Burgoyne. She was only 4 when her mother died. She had 5 brothers and sisters, Helen Palmer, Stella Cornwell, Eva Burgoyne, Willard Burgoyne, and Glen Burgoyne.

She married George Rindt, and they became loving parents to son Jack and daughter Mary Lou. Later, she was a wonderful grandmother to Cindy and Debby. Grandmother was very close to all of her family, and spent birthdays, holidays and other time with all of them regularly.

She passed away at unexpectedly at home in Urbana, IL from a heart attack in 1974.
