Daughter of Robert James Bradshaw and Amanda Cleopah Leona Turner

Married Lloyd Hill Barnes, 1 Sep 1943, Elko, Elko, Nevada

Obituary: Eulalia Christina "Christie" Bradshaw Barnes, age 75, passed away Saturday, November 22, 1997, in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born May 9, 1922, in Stone, Idaho, the daughter of Robert James and Amanda Harris Bradshaw. She married Lloyd H. Barnes on Sept. 1, 1943, in Elko, Nevada. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Christie graduated from Box Elder High School in 1940. As a child of the Depression, she learned early that family came first. She and our dad were married for 54 years. Our mother taught her children to love literature. She especially loved poetry. Current world events stimulated family debates, with Mother often taking both sides of the issue. Cooking, for her, was an innovative act. Home building and quilt making were synonymous with dream building. Her legacy to her grandchildren was an individual hand-sewn quilt for each one.

Always a business woman, she and our dad ran Willow-O-Mere Dairy for 54 years. She served for several years as president of the Utah Dairy Wives Association. An active member of the LDS church, the gospel was a way of life, and she served in many callings throughout her life. Her family loves her and will miss her, but they know she was returned to her Heavenly Father.

Surviving are her husband, Lloyd of Kaysville; three sons and two daughters, Steven B. (Jackie) Barnes of Kaysville, Bradley J. (Laurie) Barnes of Kaysville, Tim (Josie) Washburn of Kirtland, New Mexico, Tamara (Keith) Ipson of Syracuse, Vicki B. (Gary) Hansen of Uintah; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Christie was preceded in death by a brother, Grant H. Bradshaw, and a sister, Laura Anderson.

The family wishes to thank the University of Utah MICU for their tender and loving care of Christie.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 1997, at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Tabernacle, 198 West Center. Viewing will be held Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at the Lindquist Kaysville Mortuary, 400 South Main, and again Wednesday at the tabernacle from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
