His Mother was Martha Elender Bass Austin b. 1797 North Carolina , daughter of John Bass and Anna Wherry. Not for sure the name of his father but was of the Cherokee tribe.
Stepfather was Benjamin Austin b.4 June 1796 in Burke Co. North Carolina and died 13 Jan. 1874 in Greene Co. Mo.

ANDY BASS, in his 80's, died at the home of his son ELISHA BASS of Fair
Grove. He was buried May 15 in Elm Springs cemetery. (Cemetery records
reflect that he died May 14, 1901).
