Erma Harrison was born in Ridgeway, Harrison County, Missouri, on August 24, 1909. She was the daughter of George Franklin and Clara Pryor Harrison. She graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1927, one year ahead of her sister, Laneve. She also had several step brothers. She never married, but spent most of her life living in the Plaza, an affluent area of Kansas City, where she worked for Emery Bird Thayer until she retired. Following her retirement, she moved back to Ridgeway, MO where she died on February 16, 2002. Her memory has been forever etched into my heart in a tapestry of love. Rest in peace, Erma, until we meet again.

Erma Payne writes:
I was named after Erma Harrison, as she was my Mother's best friend. Erma was very talented woman in so many areas. She excelled in art, had an eye for design, and accomplished much in her lifetime. I feel so very fortunate that she was a big part of my life.
