Birth: 1800
South Carolina, USA
Death: 1865
Winn Parish
Louisiana, USA

Gabriel was born in the Pendleton District of SC, he married, the first time, in SC to, name unknown. By 1860 he and his family and 2nd wife, Martha, were in Winn Parish, LA . I am of the belief that Gabriel died sometime after 1865, the last record of Gabriel M. Barron, in Winn Parish. He was living SE of Verda on their land, purchased in 1858. I have visited that area and did not find any marked graves. I visited the Verda Cemetery east of New Verda near Dartigo Creek, which borders his land. There were field stones indicating unmarked graves there. Family lore is that Gabriel died shortly after the Civil War. Personally, I believe he was buried near his home. I am placing his memorial in the Verda Cemetery in one of the unmarked grave sites.
