Carol E. Baker, 70, passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo. He was born Dec. 8, 1937, in Windfall, to the late Clyde and Lillian (Shaw) Baker, who survives. On Dec. 8, 1978, he married Ellen (Singer) Baker.
Carol was an avid racing fan and had worked at the I-69 Gas City Speedway and at other various tracks throughout the area over the years. He was a member of Windfall United Methodist Church and a member of the United Auto Workers Local 292 in Kokomo. He retired from Delco Electronics in 1993 after 37 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Baker, Windfall; children, Greg (Cindy) Baker, Kokomo, Rob (Debbie) Baker, Kokomo, Todd (Jenni) Baker, Russiaville, Sherri Baker, Kokomo, Robin Sikkema, Houston, Texas, Angela Hunter, Indianapolis, and Todd (Carol) Hunter, Centerville, Mich.; brother, James Baker, Kent, Ohio; mother, Lillian Adams, Tipton; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Porter Funeral Home, Tipton. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
