HIRAM A. COVELL, the well known vaudeville agent died Jan. 6 at Roosevelt Hospital, this city, from a complication of diseases. The deceased was born in Portland, Me., about fifty years ago, and was educated at Blue Hill College, that state. He went to Boston, Mass., about 1870, and engaged in mercantile pursuits until 1885, when he came to New York City. He became connected with the editorial department of THE CLIPPER in 1885 and continued with this paper until 1889, when he resigned to establish a vaudeville agency. He was well informed on variety acts in Europe and this country and was exclusive agent for many of the leading performers. He was unmarried and leaves no relatives. The remains were interred 9, under the auspices of the Actors' Fund, in the Fund Plot, Evergreens Cemetery.
