applied for Texas confederate pension in 1916 from Comanche County. Served in Co B. 7th Kentucky Cavalry. Captured in the Tennessee River a few days after the battle of Chickamauga September 1863 and sent to Ft Delaware until the end of the war as a prisoner. He stated he had been in Texas 62 years mostly living around Comanche County.
April 14, 1860 in Ranger Company under Capt Fitzhugh. Discharged October 25, 1860 after 6 months. Enlisted October 18. 1860 in Rangers under Capt L S Ross to February 6, 1861 as a private. Company stationed at Ft Belknap, Enlisted Feb 4, 1861 at Elm Creek. Mustered out 14, 1861 at Waco, Texas. under Capt David L. Sublett. Called into state service.
March 6, 1862 Witts Mill, Dallas County, Texas. In Texas Squadron of Volunteers. Capt Richard M Gano, called into Confederate service by Gen. Albert Sidney Johnston.
June 3, 1862 enlisted June 3, 1862 Witts Mill, Dallas County, Texas in Co B 7th Kentucky Cavalry. They served in the Confederate Service under Gen John Hunt Morgan and took part in his cavalry raids into the north.
On 1880 census he was farming in Comanche County. He was a bachelor.
