Henry Wend was the fifth and last child born to Caroline Lisette and Emil Albert Wend. He served in the Navy during World War I. He married Elsie C. Braentigam on June 14, 1919. They had three children - Richard (1921), Vanita (1924) and Doris (1931). The family resided in the city of Chicago. Henry died in 1961 of cancer.
