Born March 19, 1916 in River Rouge, Michigan he was the son of George and Ella (Witte) Warner. On August 9, 1940 he married Ella Mae Mathias in Lincoln Park, Michigan. They were married for 69 years. George was the former owner of the Flat Rock Mill shop and was employed as a supervisor with Ford Motor Company Casting and Rouge Plant in Dearborn, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Community Lutheran Church in Flat Rock for 17 years. He volunteered for the helping hands ministry for 6 years, built the pulpit, the giving tree and worked on other projects at the church.
Surviving are his wife, Ella Mae of Riverview; 5 sons, George (Amy) of Dearborn, David (Edylane) of Hockley, Texas, Gerald (Rose) of Taylor, Doug (Yvonne) of Belleville and Bruce (Cherie) of Trenton; daughter, Jeanette (Michael) Welch of White Lake; brother Roy "Stub" Warner of Spruce; 18 Grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
