Death: Jan. 1, 1889

Robert and wife Wealthy Brown lived at Orchard Creek, Orleans Co., NY before coming to Michigan. They initially settled in Genesee Township, Genesee Co. in 1850 where they farmed for approximately 11 years. They then moved to Otisville and later to Vassar, Tuscola Co., MI where he handled produce, grain, agricultural implements and built the first grain elevator. He then returned to Otisville where Robert and Wealthy resided until death.

Robert died at his home in Otisville and is buried in the Cottage Cemetery, Richfield Township, Genesee Co., MI. Heart disease was suspected to have been the cause of death. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church in Otisville.

Robert's will was recorded 25 July 1893. The persons named in the will were his living children, widow and a Maud Alexander, age 18 of Bay City, MI. Maud Alexander has not been identified. On 18 October 1904 Maud Brown (formerly Maud Alexander) of Versills, Alleghany Co., PA, "one of the heirs of the estate of R. B. D. Alexander" sold land to Francis R. Frost. The land transaction was signed by Maud Brown and Mason Brown.
