Mark Sterling Atchinson, 23, was taken away from us too soon. Mark passed on to the great spirit of life on March 21, 2013. He leaves behind Mark, Michele, Matthew and Kaitlyn, a grandfather and many aunts and uncles. Mark was an avid hiker, backpacker, camper, snowshoer, and canoer, and enjoyed trout fishing. Just last week he finished the Cat3500, and last August the ADK46r. He hiked the NPT, 2/3LT, 1/2 LP and was always reading. Mark was a graduate of Middleburgh High School, and was in his fourth year at SUNY Cobleskill in the wildlife program. Mark was working at Windham and worked summers for the ADK-prof-trail-crew and Shaul's farm. Donations to 'ADK Summit Steward Program', 814 Goggins Road, Lake George, NY 12845. A celebration of Mark's spirit will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh with David Houck as celebrant.
