Mrs. Mary (Libby) Elizabeth Adams, 99, of Frederick, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, at College View Nursing Center, Frederick. She was the wife of the late Donald Fulmer Adams, who passed away in 1959.
Born on Feb. 14, 1911, in Comus, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Rhoda (Holland) Cecil.
Mrs. Adams was employed by the Union Manufacturing Co. during the war years. After the death of her husband, she was then employed at the Maryland School for the Deaf until her retirement in 1975. For the last six years, she was a resident at Genesis Health Care, College View Nursing Center, Frederick.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean A. Wasko, and husband, Andrew, of Frederick. She was the grandmother of Andy and Mike Wasko and Gabrielle Patton and the great-grandmother of Savannah, Madison, Bridget and Michael Wasko and Adria Patton. She was preceded in death by her three siblings, Walter S. Cecil, I. Virginia Burkett and Ruth Davis.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Linda W. Healy will officiate. Interment will be private at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
