James "Kid" Leon Alexander, 55, of Big Spring died Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock after a long illness. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at West Hwy 80 Church of Christ with Minister Clayburn Jackson officiating.

He was born June 2, 1953, in Sweetwater, Texas to Ariea Deloise Thomas Alexander and Jesse James Alexander. He grew up in Sweetwater and had worked at the Gypsun Plant. He had been a resident of Big Spring for the past 15 years and was a Veteran of the U. S. Army.

He is survived by his wife: Betty Ann Alexander of 32 years of Sweetwater; six children: Eric, Christopher, Jason, Donnie, Jamie and Ariea Alexander; 16 grandchildren; three sisters: Alma White of Big Spring, Georgia McCurdy and her husband Robert of Plano, and Matilda Ann Monroe and her husband Farris of Abilene; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many life long friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one nephew: Del Alexander White.
