Walter was the son of Walter John Brown and Letha Mae Barrett Brown. He was born at the family home on 48th St in Downtown Los Angeles. He was married first to Marian Elizabeth Beckwith with whom he had 2 children, Gary Thomas Brown and Linda Marian Brown. They divorced in 1946. He then married Dorothy Kress, no children.

He was the brother of Evelyn Mae (Stroud), Iva Jean (Moxness), June Mildred (Armstrong, Ruby Betsey (Fuller), Richard Roy and Thomas Howard Brown.

He was a career Navy man who entered the service in 1942.

He was my father and that's about all I know about him. When my parents were divorced, his second wife had children of her own and made sure that he was kept busy with them and not his own children. I don't blame her because he allowed it...it was just easier for him to keep the peace than be a part of his own kids lives. That doesn't make him a bad person, just a rotten father. I will still wish him peace.
