Richard Allen Arnold
Learn about upgrading this memorial...
Birth: Jul. 23, 1840
Prince George's County
Maryland, USA
Death: Dec. 16, 1904
District Of Columbia, USA

He struck by a street railway car, critically injured and later died.

He was appointed to the Department in 1870, and meritoriously rose through the ranks. In 1886, there was an investigation involving the department, and Lieutenant Arnold was dismissed. He remarked that he had been done an injustice, and said little about it afterwards.

POLICE PERSONALS

Lieut. Arnold, on complaint of John A. Neal, yesterday arrested Richard Harris on the charge of keeping a gambling house at 1208 Pennsylvania avenue. It seems that Neal lost $500 in the house a few nights ago, and yesterday swore out the warrant for the arrest of Harris.
