Martin, a well-known and well-liked business man, was also an amateur magician who loved to entertain people at the church he actively attended in addition to any talent show and always performed for any and all church, 4-H ad county charity events organized by his mother-in-law, Miss Rosalind, Anson County's demonstration agent, right up to the time of his death. He married Margaret Redfern on November 27, 1929 and had two loving daughters. "Dr. Wisco-Wasco" was laid to rest with his magic wand beside him.
