Ada B. Clark, age 90, of rural Rozetta, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 1999, at 5:05 p.m. at the Community Medical Center in Monmouth, Illinois.
She was born September 1, 1909 in Berwick, Illinois, the daughter of Lewis E. and Lizzie E. Harris Snyder. She married James W. Clark on March 12, 1933 in Abingdon, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1985.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Harold and Paul.
She attended rural schools near Berwick and Abingdon and also attended Hedding College in Abingdon. She then attended Western Teachers College in Macomb and college in Boulder, Colorado. She taught school several years at the Little Brick School between Berwick and Abingdon. For many years she was a farm wife assisting her husband in the operations of their farm in rural Rozetta, Illinois.
She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. She and her husband Jim later attended and she taught Sunday School at Reed Methodist Church near Rozetta. She later joined the Rozetta Baptist Church. Mrs. Clarks main interests were her home, her family and her grandchildren. She was also a genealogy researcher and voluntarily helped other families with their genealogy studies.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL with Reverend Larry Dyson officiating. Interment was in Rozetta Cemetery, in Rozetta, IL. A memorial is being established for the Rozetta Baptist Church.
