Married Catharine Julia Bartlett in 1848.
According to the 1910 census he had already passed away. His wife is listed as a widow. So his death year on the marker of 1937 would appear to be incorrect.
Another user of this website sent me the info below. I knew the death date on his marker had to be wrong.
From my 1852 pioneer website: He died in 1907 rather than the 1937 that his marker indicates.
ADAMS, Calvin Henry (1820 -1907): m'd 1848 BARTLETT, Catherine J.; brother of Dr. William Adams; Hillsboro, Ore. – Calvin Henry Adams, Oregon pioneer of 1852, died at his home in this city August 29 after an illness of three days, superinduced by a paralytic stroke. Deceased was born in Eden, N.Y. January 7, 1820. Moving to Genesen, Ill., he was married to Miss Cathering Barlitt May 18, 1848. They crossed the plains in 1852 and settled in the Waldo Hills, Marion county. In 1863 the moved to Washington county, settling in Hillsboro. The widow, a brother, Dr. William Adams of this city, and the following children survive: Mrs. Sophia Howlby, Hillsboro, Joseph S. Adams, Portland, Amos C. Adams, Weston, Marion C. Adams, Stites, Idaho, Mrs. Flora Pio, Portland, and William C. Adams, Hillsboro. Mr. Adams had been affiliated with the Congregational church of Hillsboro ever since its organization. [The Spokesman Review, Sept 6, 1907, Spokane, WA]; buried Hillsboro Pioneer Cemetery, Washington Co, OR.
The above was sent to me by Stephenie to post on this memorial.
