He was born to Joseph W. Blackerby and Angeline Wesner in Crawford Co., Ill. He was the oldest of eight children. George married Linda Jane Wilson in Jack, Texas on Mar. 31, 1887. They were to have nine children. He came to Indian Territory (later the state of Oklahoma) in 1893, to the Parks Community on Pipe Creek, near Velma, Okla. He farmed, operated a store, and covered a early mail route first on horseback and then in a model T and Model A Fords. He operated the Parks Post Office for many years. In the early 1920's he and Linda moved to Duncan, Oklahoma.At his 100th birthday party he was honored as a soft spoken neighbor, friend and family man. He lived 103 years.
