Kathleen Kay "Kathie" Best, 65, of Winfield, MO, died on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, at Stygar Mid Rivers Funeral Home, located at 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Charles, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, at Ware's Grove Lutheran Church in rural Butler with the Rev. John-Herbert Jaffry officiating.
Burial will be in Ware's Grove Cemetery in rural Butler.
Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Best was born in Beatrice, NE, on Jan. 6, 1947, the daughter of the late John and Eunice (Barber) Janssen. She married Larry Wayne Best in Macon, MO, on June 12, 1992, and he survives.
She graduated from Prairie View High School in Prairie View, KS, and later from St. Louis Community College in Meramec.
Mrs. Best was employed by Edward Jones as a travel coordinator for ten years and had also worked at The Vein Center in Des Peres, MO.
She was a member of the Family Motor Coach Association and had been a full-time RVer for the last nine years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, golfing, traveling and her flowers.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Best is survived by two sons, Michael J. (wife Stephanie) Prinsen and Matthew J. (wife Tricia) Prinsen, all of St. Peters, MO; two stepdaughters, Melissa (husband Jeffrey) Johnson of Gainesville, FL, and Melinda Best of Taylorville; one brother, Larry (wife Ione) Janssen of Corvallis, OR; and ten grandchildren, Rebecca, Alexander, Connor, Sophia and Natalie Prinsen, Cali Best, Ashlyn and Mason Johnson and Paige and Peyton Niedringhaus.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to March of Dimes, Attn: DRFR, 1275 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, NY, 10605, or Bread for Life Food Pantry, 102 South Lincoln Dr., Troy, MO, 63379.
