Magdalene "Marge" Lewicki, 76, of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at her home.
Marge was born on Jan. 9, 1934, the daughter of the late Alexander and Angeline (Baran) Luczak in Bay City, Mich.
She married James Lewicki on May 11, 1957.
Marge touched many people's lives through her work as a registered nurse and community volunteer. She graduated from Mercy Central School of Nursing in Grand Rapids, Mich., in 1955. For 25 years she worked as a surgical nurse at Fort Memorial Hospital.
Over the years, Marge participated in a variety of community activities including the Fort Atkinson Woman's Club, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fort Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels and the food pantry.
She enjoyed the company of family and friends, along with traveling and crocheting.
Marge is survived by her husband, James; children, Susan McCann of Oconomowoc, Robert (Mary) Lewicki of Fort Atkinson, James II (Susan) Lewicki of New Berlin and John (Yvonne) Lewicki of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Mandy (Chris) Tukiendorf, Jonathan and Angela Lewicki, Daniel (Kari Schemm) Lewicki, David Lewicki, Alyssa, Kristi and Katie McCann, and Paige Lewicki; sister, Grace Swiecicki; sisters-in-law, Geri, Marg and Thelma Luczak; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marge was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene, Jerry and Don Luczak; and sisters, Patricia Brzezinski and Elaine Wiechec.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Dunlap Memorial Home with a rosary beginning at 7, and on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, Rainbow Hospice or to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
